AI & automation · Southern California

Make your business AI native.

AI assistants are getting good. They just don't know your business: your prices, your customers, how you do things. I build the brain they read, in one place you own, so your whole team can ask it anything.

No pitch on the call. If I'm not the right fit, I'll say so.

Things I've built.

Real systems, running for real businesses. Clients are described, not named, until they say I can.

My own

A brain for my own business

2,100+ pages, one place

Everything I run, in one place I can ask.

Clients, contracts, dates, meetings and money all live in plain files that Claude reads. It's how I run my week, and it's the thing I build for you.

Discovery first

An auto dealership

~1 hour saved per claim

Knew it wanted automation. Didn't know where it would pay.

I mapped every process and system on redacted data, so no customer record touched a model. Then I ranked what to automate, priced the build before anyone wrote code, and built a warranty imaging app that removed about an hour of double data entry per claim.

Meetings

Notes that write themselves

No call written up from memory

Calls recorded, filed and matched to the right person.

Transcripts flow into a database, get summarized, and land on the right client record, so nobody writes up a call from memory.

E-commerce

Orders that ship themselves

No copying between tabs

Store, fulfillment and tracking, wired together.

Shopify orders flow to fulfillment, tracking goes back out, and payment failures get caught, without anyone copying data between tabs.

CRM

A golf academy's bookings, synced

Fixed the same day

Booking app to CRM, every time.

New bookings land in the CRM on their own. When a duplicate phone number broke the sync, I fixed it the same day.

Inbox

An inbox that sorts itself

Nothing sends without a yes

AI drafts the reply. A person approves it.

Email gets triaged, the urgent ones go to Slack, and replies are drafted behind a rule that nothing sends without a yes.

GmailSlackOpenAI

AI that people actually use.

Most AI projects stall after the demo. I design for the part after: safe to trust, built into the work people already do, small enough to become a habit.

Governance

Safe before it's smart

Nothing sends without a yes

I apply four governance documents, to my own system first and then to clients: a register of the AI systems in use, a map of what data may reach a model, a register of every credential, and the approval gates where a person signs off. Discovery runs on redacted data, so no customer record touches a model before there's a plan for it.

Adoption

Built with the people who use it

Designed around the real workflow

I map how the work happens today, then build into it, not around it. At the dealership, the Service Manager reviews every claim the AI assembles before it goes out. My own system has run my business every day since October: 1,757 commits of fixes from real use.

Habit design

Small enough to stick

Trained in behavior design with BJ Fogg

I studied behavior design with Stanford's BJ Fogg in 2008 and became a certified Tiny Habits coach. So the AI shows up where a habit already lives (the morning brief, the inbox, the next step) and asks for one small action, never a new routine.

Tiny HabitsPrompts in routineOne next step

The right model for each job.

Not one model for everything. Each step gets the model that fits its job, its cost and its data, and I keep watch so an upgrade or a retirement never breaks a client's system.

OpusReading documents and screenshots that have to be right: a dealership's warranty claims and work orders, with the effort set per task.
SonnetWriting at volume in a brand's own voice: product titles and descriptions from the brand guide.
HaikuFast and cheap, where seconds matter: short nudges during a live call.
Whisper, on deviceSpeech to text that never leaves the machine: call transcripts and voice notes, with a voiceprint to tell who's speaking.
Gemini imageProduct images and mockups, where an image model beats a text model.
The watchA scan of every model in my code that flags settings an upgrade would break, and a retirement check against the provider's deprecation dates.

What my own brain does every day.

I run my company on the same thing I build for clients. A few of the jobs it does for me:

Morning briefCalendar, messages, money and what's due, in one short report, then one ranked next step whenever I ask.
Meetings and messages filedCalls transcribed and matched to the right person and client; texts and email filed on their page.
Its own booksDouble-entry bookkeeping from bank feeds, and a daily line on whether the business covers its costs.
Contracts and scopeDrafts statements of work and flags any ask that falls outside what the client signed.
Clients keptMonthly scorecards, a plan for when a client wants to leave, and reminders to ask for referrals at the right moment.
RelationshipsNotices who I haven't talked to in too long and drafts a warm note. It never sends without me.
Research watchReads model releases, tool changelogs and deprecation notices, and tells me only what changes my work.
GuardrailsEvery fact cites its source, a second agent checks every "done," and safety hooks block risky actions in code.

How I work with you.

Most people start with the brain. If you're not sure, book a call and I'll tell you which fits.

Start here if you're unsure

Discovery

Before I build anything, I learn how your business actually runs: every process, tool and handoff. You get a ranked list of what's worth automating and a written plan for the build.

Best for: owners who know they want AI but don't know where it pays.
The core offer

Your business brain

I write your business down in one place you own: files, prices, customers, rules. Then I connect it so Claude reads it.

  • Your whole team can ask it, not just you
  • You own it: your accounts, portable, not stuck in one chat
  • Connected to the tools you already use
  • A morning brief, approve-before-send, and one page that says if the business is healthy
  • Answering your first five questions within 30 days

I take a few at a time, because I build every one myself.

Best for: owners who turned on AI and noticed it doesn't know their business.
After the build

Monthly insights

Each month I read what your brain shows and send you the changes worth making next. Not maintenance: the next move, written down.

Best for: anyone with a brain or a system I've built who wants it to keep getting better.

Setup plus a monthly fee. You get the exact numbers in writing before you pay anything.

You might be wondering.

“Why not just use Claude Duet?”

Use it. Duet is the assistant. I build the brain it reads. Duet works for one person from the apps it can connect. The brain is for your whole team, it holds your own prices, scope and rules in a place you own, and it reaches your own systems.

“I've been burned by tech people before.”

Fair. Every job starts with a written scope you sign, so you know what you're getting before money moves. And you're not handed off to a team: it's me, start to finish.

“What about my customers' private data?”

The brain starts with how your business works, not with your customer records. If customer or finance data ever needs to be in it, that comes with a written agreement first.

“I'm not technical.”

Most of my clients aren't. You talk, I write it down and wire it up. You end up with something you can just ask, in plain English.

Here's how it works.

1

A 30-minute call

You tell me how your business runs and what you'd want to ask it. I tell you honestly whether I can help.

2

A written scope

What I'll build, in what order, and what it costs. Short and plain, and signed before any work starts.

3

Your first answers in 30 days

I build it, connect it to your tools, and it's answering your first five questions within 30 days.

What clients say.

From years of building websites, stores and systems for small businesses.

“Your turnaround time was sensational. I wish I would have found you years ago.”

Rick Sessinghaus · a performance coaching practice

“He makes my life easier, so I can focus on what I do best.”

Leisa Reid · a speaker-booking business

“For those of us that identify as technologically challenged, Adam is a gift. I cannot recommend Adam highly enough.”

Brenna Gebauer · an education business

“I would recommend him to anyone looking for an honest and competent marketing strategist.”

Bryndon Golya · a pet products company

“He is a master of both creative and technical solutions to business problems.”

Alan Kemp · a fitness business

“I appreciate Adam’s ability to listen and serve me in a way that felt supportive not directive.”

Adam Wayne

Hi, I'm Adam.

I've built for the web since 2003: web design, then search, then e-commerce marketing (I was Ecommerce Marketing Manager at BootBarn.com), then marketing automation as Built in Flight. 2seconds.ai is the newest chapter: AI that runs the back office, starting with my own.

I work alone, on purpose. Every hour on your project is mine, and I only promise what I'm sure I can deliver.

Before software I studied film. I'm an Eagle Scout, I've jumped out of a plane solo, and I still think Legos were the best toy ever made. Now I build the grown-up kind.
